Living Traditions Folk Ensemble
Living Traditions Folk Ensemble
performs folk dances and songs of the Carpatho-Rusyn
immigrants who founded our Eparchy. The group not only
performs, but also offers audience members the chance to get
off their feet and join the fun themselves. The experience
offers visitors of all ages a chance to learn and
participate in these folk dances!
Cathy & Tom Katrenich created Living Traditions Folk
Ensemble to keep alive the dances, songs, and culture of
their Carpatho-Rusyn, Polish, and Croatian ancestors, and to
share these with their children and others. Cathy and Tom,
and their three children, have performed Eastern European
folk dances with multiple groups, touring both in the US and
Eastern Europe. They have attended many ethnic dance
workshops and festivals, and have studied with expert
ethnographers and choreographers from various ethnic regions
throughout Eastern Europe.
Living Traditions Folk Ensemble
offers performances, dance workshops, and cultural education
programs, as well as collaborative multicultural projects
with other groups. You'll love the opportunity to
experience Carpatho-Rusyn culture through music and dance.
