Giving
When we think of “giving” we often think of money. I drop my
envelope in the collection basket. I write a check. I make a
“donation” to the church.
True enough. God does call each of us to give back to him
something of the “treasure” he has given to each of us.
However, your “treasure” is far greater than the sum of your
financial assets. “As each one has received a special gift,
employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the
manifold grace of God” (1Pt 4:10).
God made you a steward and has given you unique talents and
abilities. He calls you to use your talents and abilities to
serve him and his church.
Whatever time we have on this earth is a gift from God, and
God calls us to use it wisely in every daily activity. We need
to “budget” our time in order to make time to fulfill God’s
plan.
“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful
servant. You were faithful with a small matter, I will put you
in charge of larger affairs; enter into the joy of your
master.’” (Mt 25:21).
