PARMA, Ohio — “Who is my Neighbor?” is the theme for the National ByzanTEEN Catholic Youth Rally, July 5-8, at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
Fred Rogers of “Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood” fame was born in Latrobe, thus the philosophy behind the theme. The program will emphasize the Gospel story of the Good Samaritan and include a “Rise Against Hunger” packing event. All four Byzantine Catholic bishops will be present for the Saturday evening liturgy.
Other highlights include the nightly Byzantine Café, sports, prayer, the opportunity for the sacrament of reconciliation, the Saturday night dance, and the chance to mingle with ByzanTEENS from across the country.
All parishes received registration forms. The cost is $310 per person by May 1; $335 after May 1. The deadline to register is June 16.
A bus will depart from St. Joseph church in Brecksville, Ohio, July 5 at 1 p.m., and return July 8. The bus cost is $50.
Those interested may contact Father Bruce Riebe, director of the Youth Ministry Office: (440) 526-0016.
