Right now, four groups of pilgrims are making their way to Indianapolis on foot, having begun their journeys from Brownsville (TX), Bemidji (MN), San Francisco (CA), and Bridgeport (CT). On July 1, our very own St. Mary’s Whiting will be a stop along the Marian Route.

The Feasts of Saints Peter and Paul are celebrated on June 29th in the Byzantine Catholic Church. This is considered an obligatory feast day, and the faithful are encouraged to attend the services offered at their respective parishes.

Peter’s Pence Special collection will take place June 29-30 and is a significant way to support the Universal Church.

As our Lord called his chosen twelve from among his disciples and as the twelve later called seven to the laying on of hands in order that they provide needed services to the Church, so also now are men called from among those who follow in Christ’s path.

The traditional practice for Apostle's fast is to abstain from meat and dairy products on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays.   While this Fast is voluntary, it is highly encouraged.

Thank you for the support of the 2023-2024 Stewardship Appeal. The Stewardship Appeal is doing very well as we enter the last month of the appeal. Donations will be accepted until June 30. ​​​​​​​

Sponsored by the Office of Religious Education, Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh, a Bible Training Workshop will take place July 12-13, 2024 at Saints Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Pittsburgh, PA. Register by June 29. Space is limited.

The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is well underway with our very own St. Mary’s Whiting listed as a stop along the Marian Route, July 1. Members of our Eparchy may be particularly interested in the Hierarchical Vigil Divine Liturgy at St. Athanasius on Friday, Syro-Malabar Qurbana (Eucharistic Liturgy) on Saturday at 8:30AM and the Closing Mass on Sunday at 10AM. Our very own Bishop Robert will be participating in all 3 liturgical services.

In addition to the God-inspired signs of a ministerial vocation, evidence of above-average Christian discipleship must be found in a candidate for Holy Orders. The following are prerequisites for a man who wishes to apply for formation.
