Eparchy of Parma Marriage Preparation Program - Pre-Cana 2022
Pre-Cana, the program of preparation for the Mystery of Holy Matrimony hosted by the
Ruthenian Eparchy of Parma in conjunction with the Tabor Life Institute, takes place during the first weekend in May in the Ohio region and again in the Midwest region during the Fall season. This program presents the mystical "why" behind marriage as designed by Almighty God and communicated by the Church. The "why" of marriage is then applied to the various aspects of marriage from relational insights, the art of communication, the domestic Church, Biblical stewardship and the Byzantine Catholic wedding ceremony itself. The Pre-Cana program hosted by the Ruthenian Eparchy of Parma is also open to couples from all Eastern Catholic Churches.
The first Pre-Cana weekend for 2022 will occur Saturday-Sunday, April 30--May 1 at St. John Hungarian Byzantine Catholic parish in Solon, Ohio. The second session will take place in the Fall at Annunciation Byzantine Catholic Church in Homer Glen, Illinois at a time soon to be announced. Couples can register for the Fall or Spring session by going to the Events page of the web site; taborlife.org and clicking on either the Spring or Fall Pre-Cana page. Couples who cannot make either the Spring or Fall session are asked to contact the Tabor Life Institute so that other accommodations can be made for them.
Pastors in the Ruthenian Eparchy of Parma who have couples preparing for marriage are required to obtain the Pre-Marriage Inventory (PMI) for each couple to complete, preferably online. The pastor must then discuss the results with the couple after he has received the score of their PMI. Pastors can go to: premaritalinventory.net to obtain the PMI for their couples.
